Rita Marley
Alpharita Constantia Marley otherwise known as Rita Marley is a singer who was a member of the singing group I Threes and a backup vocalist for Bob Marley’s band, Bob Marley and the Wailers.
She was also married to Bob Marley.
In December 1976, Rita along with other members of Marley’s entourage was wounded when gunmen entered the Marley household. Rita survived a shot to the head.
Even after the death of Bob, Rita founded and is a chairperson of the Robert Marley Foundation. She also formulated the Bob Marley Trust and the Bob Marley Group of Companies.
Rita also planned to have the body of Bob exhumed and reburied in Ethiopia his “spiritual resting place” although this has yet to materialize.
