Boomslang Tree Canopy Walkway – South Africa
The original name for the ‘Boomslang’ walkway which means tree snake is the Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway. The nickname is derived from its windy and curving nature – reminiscent of an actual snake.
The walkway is located in the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town. It is 427 feet long and suspends 39 feet in the air; it also touches the bottom of the forest floor at two points. It can be compared to a rollercoaster ride, as explained by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI).
