Maria Borges – Angola
Born in Luanda, Angolan model Maria Borges has had a flourishing career. After her discovery in 2010, she participated in various modelling events and ultimately made her debut in 2012 in her first fashion week. Walking 17 runways in that year gifted her a slot in Forbes Africa’s Magazine’s Top Model of 2013.
She has appeared on the cover of ELLE, making her the first African model to grace the cover of the magazine since Alek Wek in 1997. Her clouts in the industry could only get bigger as she has walked every single Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show since 2013 and has walked for Dior, Versace and Marc Jacobs.
