Festivals are a common fixture of events in many parts of the world. In the U.S. and other parts of the West, festival season is during the spring and summer – from around April to early September. In Africa, however, they are especially common towards the end of the year.

As the rainy season tapers off in West Africa towards the end of the year and many countries begin to get long sunny days, crowds swoop outside for the festivities.

Taking inspiration from travel African bug, Justrioba, these are the top 5 festivals to watch out for in Africa for the rest of the year.
