Naba Baongo, Mogho Naba, the King of the Mossi People of Burkina Faso

There are several influential traditional rulers in Burkina Faso, West Africa, including Naba Guigem Polle, the Dima of Zougrantenga, Naaba Kiiba of Yatenga, and so on. But the current king of the Mossi people of Burkina Faso, Mogho Naba (Naba Baongo) is without a doubt immensely prominent. Naba Baongo II advises the Burkinabe government on issues pertaining to culture and tradition as a traditional leader.

Throughout his community and beyond, he has used his influence to advance peace, harmony, and growth. His initiatives helped many people in Burkina Faso live better lives by establishing a number of programs to support economic, healthcare, and educational development in his community. Popular dignitaries and traditional leaders from the nation and the West African sub-region attended his coronation, which was held in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso.

According to the BBC, he played a key role in arranging for Burkina Faso to return to civilian rule and took part in a number of local and international peace talks. During the Thomas Sankara presidency, traditional ruler powers were reduced. Prior to that, his position was referred to as the King of the Earth. Such was the greatness of his position.
