NFL star Jimmie Ward was arrested by police on Thursday morning after an incident at his home.
According to Montgomery County Jail, the Houston Texans safety, who is on a $ 4.5 million-a-year salary, was brought in by cops in the final minutes of dawn, around 5:30 am.
Around 6:30 am, Ward was booked and is now being held without bond.
The NFL star’s charge was exacerbated to third-degree felony family assault due to allegations of impeding breathing, per jail records.

‘We are aware of the report involving Jimmie Ward,’ said the senior director of communications for the Texans, Omar Majzoub, in a statement to the Houston Chronicle.
‘We are gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.’
Most of Ward’s career has seen him with the San Francisco 49ers, who picked him in the first round of the 2014 Draft.
In the 2024 and 2020 Super Bowls respectively, Jimmie Ward played in the team that lost to the Kansas City Chiefs on both occasions.
He joined the Texans in 2023 on a two-year, $10.5m deal that was extended for a further year in 2024.
The NFL star featured 10 times for the team last year, recording 48 tackles and two interceptions, yet his season was shortlived with a foot injury that required surgery.
The Texans made the playoffs, yet lost in the first round when they faced the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. That was the game where Caitlin Clark joined Taylor Swift in the stands as she cheered her boyfriend, Travis Kelce on.
