Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II
He is the 40th monarch of the Benin Kingdom, Nigeria, and His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, is a first-class monarch like the Ooni of Ife. He also serves as the Benin kingdom’s spiritual leader. Oba Akpolokpolo is well-educated and cosmopolitan. Before ascending to the throne, he worked as an intern for the UN and represented Nigeria as ambassador to Sweden, Finland, Italy, and, concurrently, Norway and Angola.
He received his higher education at Rutgers University Graduate School and the University of Wales in the United Kingdom. After assuming the title of Oba, he has made numerous contributions to the growth of the Benin Kingdom and launched numerous initiatives to conserve the cultural heritage of his people, including the creation of a cultural center and the preservation of historical landmarks. He is a philanthropist who has made a significant contribution to fostering peace and stability in Nigeria and the wider West African area.
