Folorunsho Alakija

Folorunsho Alakija is a dynamic businesswoman and philanthropist. She is currently the wealthiest woman in Nigeria and was once the wealthiest woman in Africa. She is the Executive Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil, an oil exploration firm in Nigeria with a stake in the Agbami Oil Field. Born on July 15, 1951, she is also known as Apostle Folorunsho Alakija. She started her career in office administration, went into banking, and left to build her own empire. She established her first business, ‘Supreme Stitches,’ a top-notch fashion company that she later transformed into the ‘Rose of Sharon House of Fashion.’

She also founded Digitalreality Print Limited, a highly technical large-format printing, and direct imagery paper printing press. She is the Group Managing Director of Rose of Sharon Group, and the Executive Vice Chairman of Dayspring Property Development Company Limited, a real estate company.

Aside from her businesses, she is a co-founder of the Rose of Sharon Glorious Ministry International, a faith-based Christian Ministry. Folorunsho is the author of nine books, including ‘Alone with God,’ ‘University of Marriage’, ‘Growing with the Hand that Gives the Rose’, ‘The Cry of Widows and Orphans’, and ‘Window Shop for Your Spouse’. She is worth a little below the billion-dollar mark.
