A college degree used to be a standard requirement for many formal or office jobs, but that is gradually no longer the case. Top firms are now dumping those four-year degree requirements and are opting for people with non-traditional education or a high-school diploma for some of their job offers, according to data gathered by job site, Glassdoor
The site reports that most companies now realize that “book smarts don’t necessarily equal strong work ethic, grit and talent.” They are increasingly appreciating candidates who are self-taught or those with special skills acquired outside of traditional academic institutions.
