The national flag of Rwanda: The Rwandan flag stands out for not just the careful selection of its colors but also the imprint of the sun, which represents enlightenment. The four-colored flag was adopted on October 25, 2001, with the blue standing for peace, yellow being happiness, and green an expression of prosperity. Local engineer and artist Alphonse Kirimobenecyo is reported to have designed the flag.
