3. University of Nairobi: This research university located in Nairobi was Kenya’s first and for many years, only university. Today it offers more than two hundred programmes, including courses in Law, Medical Sciences and Education. With seven campuses throughout Nairobi, it is one of Kenya’s largest campuses and stands out as one of the most revered universities in East Africa. Notable alumni include activist Wangari Maathari, international supermodel Iman, and Kenyan politician William Ruto.
