Hair removal in ancient Egypt

Hair grooming

Ancient Africans devised interesting techniques to shave and groom hair. Egyptians used blades made from flint and bronze and sometimes scissors for hair trimming.

For removing body hair, a sticky paste made from sugar, lemon, water and sometimes bee’s wax was applied to the area and scrapped or wiped off.
