Former U.S. President Barack Obama marked his wife Michelle Obama’s 61st birthday with a heartfelt message to celebrate her enduring qualities and their bond over the years.

Obama took to social media on Friday, January 17, on Instagram and X to show his love and appreciation for his wife of many years.

“Happy birthday to the love of my life, @MichelleObama,” he wrote. “You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace — and you look good doing it.”

The post came with a photo of the couple holding hands at what appeared to be a celebratory dinner at Aubergine Carmel, a Michelin-starred restaurant located at L’Auberge Carmel.

Barack and Michelle sat across from each other with floral arrangements and candles in what appeared to be an intimate, wine cellar-style setting.

“I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!” Obama added.

Michelle also put out a warm response to the post. “Love you, honey!”, she commented.

The Obamas began their marriage journey in 1992 and share two daughters, Sasha, 23, and Malia, 26.

Over the past weeks, reports have suggested that a split between the two could be on the cards.

Michelle Obama was reportedly in Hawaii on an extended holiday vacation earlier this month while Barack attended former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, where he went viral after being spotted engaging with President-elect Donald Trump in smiles.

Barack is sure to attend Trump’s inauguration in Washington, D.C., next week, yet Michelle will not attend, according to a statement released by their staff on January 14.

“Former President Barack Obama is confirmed to attend the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies. Former First Lady Michelle Obama will not attend the upcoming inauguration,” the statement read.

Barack’s heartwarming post celebrating Michelle’s birthday has now played down rumors of the possible split.

The post is also a demonstration of the love between the two, and it has left many Obama fans relieved as they look forward to seeing the two together for many more years.
