The former NBA player was killed in a car accident in Los Angeles on January 31 this year, along with his wife, Leah LaBelle. Media accounts stated that Butler was driving a Land Rover down Ventura Boulevard in the Studio City section when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a curb. The 38-year-old played 13 seasons for eight teams and averaged 7.6 points per game before retiring in 2016.
