Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King
After they met in 1976, the pair can be tagged as the longest BFFs. Their friendship began while Oprah was working at a Baltimore TV station as a news anchor and Gayle King as a production assistant. 40 years down the line, their friendship has survived the horrors of the industry including rumours, spats and scandals.
According to King, they met when Oprah asked to sleep in her house following a snowstorm that hit the area, she said; “We became friends that first night because, for the first time, I met somebody who I felt was like me.”
