The Year of Return in Ghana has seen a host of celebrities thronging the West African nation to partake in the festivities.

Albeit a yearlong program, the Christmas and New Year holidays in particular have been the busiest period on the calendar thanks to the large number of events.

From Afrochella to Afronation, to Detty Rave, just to mention a few, we have seen some familiar faces either performing or joining the fun.

Besides the usual entertainment, others have also taken the opportunity to visit historical places and monuments that have ties with the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade to learn more about their ancestry. Ghana was a major hub and transit point for the transportation of slaves through the Middle Passage and 75% of the slave dungeons that were constructed along the West coast of Africa are sited in the country.

Be it for entertainment or enlightenment purposes, these black celebrities visited the West African nation at some point to partake in the Year of Return festivities. Some are actually still in town.
