Rapper and podcast host 4xtra lost some of his fingers on July 4 in what was described as a fireworks accident. Per the New York Post, the explosion occurred after 4xtra took to social media to joke about blowing someone up with the fireworks.
“Who wants to get blown up today,” the rapper, who hosts the No Jumper podcast, is heard saying in a social media post. “I’m going to blow your a– up! I’m blowing somebody up today.”
4xtra in the video is also seen holding the two fireworks and repeating what he said. “Dead homies, who wants to get blown up today,” he is heard saying. “Stop playing, you see these,” he adds while displaying the items. “I’m throwing them in your house. I’m blowing them at ya.”
It turns out 4xtra rather blew himself up as the fireworks later went off mistakenly, resulting in him losing two of his fingers, per reports on social media. In the aftermath of the incident, the owner of No Jumper, Adam22, took to social media to provide details about what actually happened and the extent of 4xtra’s injuries.
“I’m hearing that 4xtra only lost 2 fingers not the whole hand,” he wrote. “Also he was blind for a few hours but apparently his vision is back.”

4xtra’s sister has since set up a GoFundMe to help raise funds for her injured brother’s medical bills. “On the 4th of July, 4XTRA was injured in a firework accident,” the fundraiser states.
“Resan is someone who lights up every room with his humor and energy,” his sister adds. “If you’ve ever laughed with him, shared a moment, or simply care about his well-being.”
“Any support-from donations to prayers or even just sharing this-means the world to us,” she also said.
Per the Pew Research Center, over 45,000 people go to the ER annually to seek medical attention on July 4 and 5.
“This time of year, we see big increases in traumatic injuries and heat-related illness,” Dr. Ryan Marino, M.D., an ER doctor and associate professor at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, said per the New York Post.
“While fireworks accidents and injuries get most of the attention, there are far more falls, broken bones, head injuries and car accidents, just to name a few.”
