Atandwa Kani got exposed to the movie industry at a very young age by observing and learning from his father John Kani. These amazing experiences made him follow his father’s great works. He studied Theatre Performance at the University of Witwatersrand and graduated in 2008.

The stage play ‘’The Tempest’’ believed to be written by William Shakespeare was his first international act and he played alongside his father. In 2018, Kani portrayed the younger King T’Chaka, a dual part shared with his father, in the comic book film Blank Panther.
