Imagine adding to the stress of your wedding day by receiving a speeding ticket. One Florida bride experienced that when she and a wedding guest were pulled over by the police for allegedly traveling at 105 mph on their way to the ceremony.

According to Gray News, the officer approached the car after pulling it over. Bodycam video from Port St. Lucie police showed the passenger seat was occupied by a woman dressed in bridal attire.

When the officer asked why they were speeding, the two told him that they were running late for the wedding.

The bride was heard telling the officer that the wedding is at 2:30 p.m., to which the officer replied, “You’re already late.” According to the bodycam footage, it was 2:42 p.m.

Even though the bride has yet to tell her side of the story, the officer decided to make an example of them. The officer then told the driver that he would allow them to travel to the wedding, but only after issuing the driver an obligatory court date.

“This stop gives a whole new meaning to racing to the altar…  not exactly the best way to start your wedding,” the police department wrote.
