On this day in history, Nathaniel Dwayne Hale, known professionally as Nate Dogg was born. He was famous for his deep, low-pitched voice and his ability to perform strong hooks in songs. He is considered the rap and R&B crooner.
Nate Dogg began his career with the California rap group, 213, that included his longtime friend, Warren G, and cousin Snoop Dogg. He was versatile in his craft, giving him the ability to rap, sing, act and write.
Nate was known for smash hits with rappers, Fabulous, Mobb Deep, Mos Def, Ludacris and many more.
Despite his success in music, he had a longstanding history with the law as he was arrested and charged with robberies and drug-related offences.
He later died as a result of complications after suffering several strokes at 41 years old.
