Weeks after his sensational performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Nigerian superstar artiste, Burna Boy, has once again shown why he is one of the most sought after musicians in Africa as he made an appearance on another major American TV platform.

Fresh from the release of his album, African Giant, Burna Boy was a guest on The Daily Show hosted by Trevor Noah.

Surrounded by his team of female backing vocalists, the BET award-winner was dressed in multicolored striped apparel, a pair of glasses with his neck full of diamonds while rocking his signature braids. He performed his latest singles Anybody and Ye on the platform.

In the interview with Trevor Noah, Burna Boy spoke extensively about his recent success, appearing on Beyoncé’s Lion King: The Gift Album; why he describes his music as “Afrofusion” and the famous Coachella font incident that inspired the name of his album.

He said of the Coachella font incident, “I expressed myself because everyone coming after me shouldn’t have to go through that, it’s only right.”

You would recall that Burna Boy early this year in a tweet expressed displeasure at organizers of Coachella, one of the world’s most celebrated music festivals. He described the font size in which his name was written on the bill as inappropriate.

His appearance on The Daily Show comes after appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Breakfast Club and Ebro In The Morning. The singer has also signed an agreement with Swedish digital music service provider, Spotify, to launch Burna Bank.

His album, African Giant, was released in June and has a blend of several genres forming a unique sound. It has samples of songs from the iconic songstress, Angelique Kidjo, and his long-standing inspiration, Fela.
