Stick Dance

Originating in the 1700s among slaves in the US, the stick dance involved routines where enslaved black people used sticks in tune with body movements.

It has been established that the stick dance was actually a disguised self-defence training in which the stick was a weapon. This brings the stick in close affinity to Capoeira.
