Thanksgiving is a big deal for families living in the U.S. It is a day set aside to give thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of a successful year.

The day brings families together to reflect on life and it is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.

Just like every traditional holiday that is celebrated, people living in the U.S. test their turkey-cooking skills right before Christmas, but most importantly reaching out to the needy.

Thanksgiving is not only celebrated in the U.S., it is also celebrated in the Caribbean Islands, Liberia and on the second Monday in October in Canada. It has been a public holiday in the U.S. since 1789.
