Authorities in Los Angeles are investigating Chris Brown for battery after a woman claimed the R&B singer hit her during an altercation at his home in San Fernando Valley on Friday, The Wrap reported.
Officers responded to Brown’s home after the report was made but the Heat singer left the scene before they arrived. The unidentified woman told police Brown had hit her while they were having an argument.
TMZ also reports the woman told officers the impact of Brown’s slap on the back of her head caused the weave she was wearing to come off. The woman reportedly did not sustain any injuries and no one has been arrested – though Brown has been named as the suspect in the case. The charge has been classified as a misdemeanor and the City Attorney would probably handle the case.
Brown appeared to respond to the battery allegations on his Instagram story on Tuesday, posting: “Y’all so damn [cap].” The 32-year-old added laughing emojis to his post, Complex reported.
Brown has had a checkered past with regards to his relationships with his former flames. In 2009, the Excuse Me Miss singer made national headlines after he physically assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna during an altercation. The incident reportedly left the Bajan singer with severe injuries and in need of medical attention. Brown later pleaded guilty to the assault after reaching a plea deal.
In 2017, another ex-girlfriend of Brown, actress and model Karrueche Tran, obtained a five-year restraining order against the musician following their split. Tran claimed Brown had been harassing and threatening her and she feared for her safety.
