Authorities in Los Angeles have identified the body of the girl who was found in the trunk of a Tesla belonging to D4vd, and the singer has since temporarily halted his world tour.
Per TMZ, D4vd, 20, was billed to hit the stage at Showbox SoDo in Seattle on Wednesday night, but sources informed the entertainment news outlet that the concert was no longer happening. The decomposed and chopped-up body of the girl was found in the front trunk of D4vd’s car on September 8 and while the singer was on his world tour.
An investigation into the case has since been launched, and the deceased victim was identified as Celeste Rivas, 15. Her mother also reportedly said that Celeste was dating an individual named David.
The Tesla in question was abandoned when it was initially found in Hollywood Hills. It was then towed to an impound lot in Hollywood, where a bag containing the victim’s body parts was found inside the vehicle’s trunk. Authorities, however, did not receive any report regarding the Tesla being stolen, TMZ reported. Police have also not disclosed the identity of the individual behind the wheel of the Tesla before the authorities later gained access to the vehicle after it was found abandoned.
Authorities also confirmed that the Tesla belongs to D4vd. Sources informed the entertainment news outlet that the police notified the singer about what was found in his car, and he is cooperating with authorities.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, in an initial online report after her body was found, stated that Celeste’s height was about 5-foot-1, while her weight was 71 pounds, TMZ reported. The deceased girl’s hair was also described as wavy black. The report further stated that she has a tattoo on her right index finger with the words, “Shhh…” D4vd is said to have the same tattoo on his right index finger.
Meanwhile, authorities have not disclosed if they have identified a suspect in connection with the case. Celeste’s mother informed the news outlet that she had disappeared over a year ago.
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, D4vd is best known for his hit songs including Here with Me and Romantic Homicide. The 20-year-old singer’s debut album, Withered, was released in April.
