It appears Sean “Diddy” Combs is trying to work on his supposed demons as he’s undergoing programs for drug use and domestic violence while he awaits his sentencing.
During his high-profile trial, several witnesses – including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura – testified about the embattled music executive’s violent behavior and drug use.
Per TMZ, sources said that Combs, 55, has enrolled in the STOP Program, which is a prison course aimed at tackling sexual assault as well as domestic and dating violence. Besides that, Combs is also undergoing therapy for drug abuse.
The news outlet also reported that prior to his 2024 arrest, Combs was already undergoing therapy for drug use, and he hasn’t stopped that while behind bars.
Combs enrolling in the aforementioned programs is not a rare thing for convicted inmates as it is an attempt to convince the judge that they want to turn over a new leaf while they await sentencing.
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Combs, who is still in custody, was arrested by federal agents on September 16 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The Bad Boy Records founder has, however, maintained his innocence.
But on July 2, a jury convicted Combs of two counts of Mann Act violations for transporting male escorts and former girlfriends Cassie Ventura and “Jane” for sex. He was also facing life in prison if convicted of the more grievous sex trafficking and racketeering charges, but he was ultimately acquitted by the jury.
Despite his acquittal, Judge Arun Subramanian on July 2 ruled that Combs remain in custody ahead of his sentencing on October 3. And though prosecutors want the 55-year-old to be sentenced to 10 years in prison, the decision regarding how long he’s going to remain locked up, entirely rests with Judge Subramanian.
