Gabon
In Gabon, the Babongo or Bongo people, who are also known as the forest people engage in a village-wide ceremony for their deceased members.
Firstly, the entire village is cleansed. The body is then cleaned and adorned in burial cloth; the body is buried by the men of the village.
The women then sanitize the village; they paint their faces white, sing, play drums and dance in a ritual that lasts for three days.
