Prosecutors have brought a slew of charges against Nina Thomas, the estranged wife of ex-NFL star Earl Thomas after she allegedly defrauded him out of over $2.7 million.
Per TMZ Sports, prosecutors claim Nina initiated the process of defrauding her estranged 35-year-old husband in September 2021. Nina’s alleged illegal actions came after she filed for divorce from the ex-Seattle Seahawks star the previous year.
Authorities claim that Nina and another individual conspired to obtain Thomas’ money and property, adding that Thomas was not aware of their actions. Authorities also claim Nina and that individual transferred those funds into bank accounts they were handling.
The court documents additionally claimed that Nina and that individual defrauded the former defensive back of over $2.7 million. Some of the illegally obtained funds were allegedly spent on breast implants and a Hermes Birkin handbag.
Nina was arrested on December 16 after a warrant for her arrest was issued on December 13. She was, however, released not too long after. She faces a slew of charges including multiple counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and aggravated identity theft, per TMZ Sports.
The former couple married in April 2016, and the ceremony was graced by notable figures including Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara. But Thomas and Nina’s marriage hit the rocks after several years.
Nina is said to have pointed a loaded gun at Thomas over infidelity allegations.
