It is unquestionable that the The Fascinating Africans Committed To Excellence Awards (F.A.C.E. List) made history in NYC at the Broad Street Ballroom on March 26, 2011. The honorees, performances, presentations, guests of honor, the diversity, all contributed to making this event one of a kind. But another important aspect that I was particularly interested in was the FASHION!
This night proved that Sophistication and class comes in no age bracket, ethnicity, or background. It was thrilling to see the sexy ladies flaunting their gowns, dresses, or traditional wear, as well as the handsome gentlemen in their suits, tuxedo’s, or traditional wear.
I made sure that I took a sneak peak of what people were wearing throughout the night so without further ado, below are my picks for best dressed:
Naimaat wore this beautiful traditional African gown that flaunted her shape perfectly. This was the perfect choice for the event. She definetely stood out.
Not everyone can pull off this look as amazing as Chrisandra Wells did. Simple, but yet elegant and sassy.
Adedayo Ogunleye, in the season of spring, bright colors always makes one stand out. This is a great way to get attention without really screaming attention. Perfect combination!
Ezegozie Eze & Cynthia Odogwu; Simply stunning. Culture at its best!
Unknown name but he definitely got the memo: Black tie with a purple twist that matches with the purple theme of the night. Sexy and elegant! Perfect for the evening!
Ruth Osei took a traditional cloth and put a twist on it, accompanied
by her husband Gabe. May I say, Couple of the Night??? You decide!
There you have it! These are my picks for Best Dressed at the First Annual F.A.C.E. List Awards.
