Ivory Coast – 1961
In 1961, the government of the Ivory Coast announced the launch of its first owned radio and television authority. The station was named Radiodiffusion-Télévision Ivoirienne (RTI) and was launched in 1962 to serve Ivorians channels that speak to their needs. The TV station achieved nationwide broadcast in 1966 and in 1970, became one of the first African television authorities to introduce colour on tv.
