A father who runs a real estate business went viral on social media after he revealed he had gifted his son 40 acres of land for his 13th birthday. According to CBS 8, Faheem Muhammed’s birthday gift to his son was even shared by renowned businessman and music executive, Diddy.

The land is located around the U.S.-Mexico border wall, but Muhammed, who resides in Los Angeles, said, they can make something good out of the property. “We see clear space, where we can uninterruptedly enjoy nature, especially growing up in a congested city like L.A. when we are out here it’s totally different,” Muhammed said.

His real estate business focuses on purchasing and rebuilding properties on Chicago’s South Side. He said his company, Oasis Investment Group, educates people about home ownership in an effort to improve the living conditions of Chicago’s Black community.

“These are people who’ve had families on government assistance for years, and now they’re actually enrolled into courses about how to own their own homes,” Muhammed said. He also explained he purchased the 198-acre San Diego land in 2021 to escape the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. His 13-year-old son now owns a portion of that property.

“I thought it would be a great opportunity to teach him a life lesson about the land,” Muhammed said. He also credited his mother for teaching him and his siblings about the importance of owning property and helping the community.

“You could build, like, ATVs around the whole thing. Build a zipline from the mountain,” Muhammed said about his San Diego land. And though the property is located around the U.S.-Mexico border, Muhammed said his family has no qualms about that.

“We just see an opportunity to enjoy nature in its finest sense. You got fresh water, and clear skies at night. You can see all the stars, and the moon. The sunrises are beautiful,” he said.
