Nina, aka Grandma Llama, wouldn’t let YouTube get in the way of her bonding time with her granddaughter, so she devised a creative way to bring all the attention to herself.

It all began during Christmas break when Grandma Llama traveled from Florida to visit her daughter, Tresure, and her family. She was most excited to spend quality time with her 1-year-old granddaughter, Heavenly. However, the reality upon arrival was not what she had envisioned.

Instead of receiving the doting attention she anticipated, Grandma Llama found herself being outshone by none other than a YouTube personality. Heavenly was completely mesmerized by the videos of Ms. Rachel, a beloved online teacher known for her engaging and educational content for toddlers. The toddler’s focus was entirely on the screen, much to Grandma Llama’s surprise.

Rather than sulking or feeling overlooked, Grandma Llama took this moment as motivation. She stepped up creatively.

She began recording her own videos with animation, music, and lots of whimsy, designed not only to entertain but also to educate. It featured her face and warm personality and brought to life basic learning themes such as shapes and the alphabet, all wrapped in a playful tone.

Grandma Llama told People, “I wanted to bridge the gap of distance and continue to sustain a bond with my grandbaby. And she seemed to really enjoy video content from Ms. Rachel, so I decided to get creative and create fun, engaging videos like some of her favorite online stars.”

Her daughter, Tresure, posted one of the videos on TikTok, and it went viral, garnering over a million views. Tresure remarked, “I thought it was nothing but hilarious when she sent me the video and told me she planned on making more.”

Fortunately, Grandma’s efforts paid off. Tresure observed that “Heavenly loved it because she knew it was her grandma.”

Seeing Heavenly light up with excitement while clapping along to the new videos was all the affirmation Grandma Llama needed. But the story didn’t end with just one grandchild’s delight. Realizing the impact of her content, she decided to share her idea beyond the walls of her family home.

Now, what began as a heartfelt way to remain present in her granddaughter’s life, despite the miles between them, has grown into a blossoming platform for early childhood education and entertainment.

“Heavenly becomes engaged and claps along with my Grandma Llama videos, and so do many other children now that I’ve created my @FairyGodMuvaKids page and shared them with children and families globally,” Grandma Llama remarked. “I’ve received tons of special requests.”

She added, “I have dedicated a whole brand to creating fun family content based on preschool fairytales and fun time and early childhood education and I will continue to make specific content exclusively for my Heavenly Pudding.”
