Daniel Kaluuya
Black Panther star Daniel Kaluuya is an actor and writer who was born in London to Ugandan parents. Growing up in West London, Kaluuya had a passion for football which led him to become a fan of the English football club, Arsenal.
Following his love for theatre and drama, he began his career as a teenager in improvisational theatre. Afterwards, he appeared in the first two seasons of the British television series Skins.
His claim to fame was in his performance as Bingham “Bing” Madsen in the Black Mirror episode “Fifteen Million Merits”. He went forward to act in Tealeaf, Psychoville, and Fades.
The biggest of them all was in 2018 when he portrayed W’Kabi in Ryan Coogler’s blockbuster film Black Panther and appeared in Steve McQueen’s heist film Widows.
He was nominated for the Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and a BAFTA Award for Best Actor for his leading role as Chris Washington in the 2017 horror film Get Out. In 2018, he won the BAFTA Rising Star Award.
