Five famous people you probably didn’t know are from Zambia

Lukwesa Burak

Born in Zambia in 1974, Burak had a few interesting times growing up. Birthed into a relatively comfortable home, her family relocated to England when she was eight years old.

She joined the Royal Airforce to satisfy her interest in flying, however, her dreams were cut short after she hurt her legs in a football game. Pursuing her other dream to the screens, she became a journalist and has worked for BBC News, Aljazeera, and Sky News.
