A Florida woman who recorded an emotional airport reunion with her boyfriend has been found dead in their apartment only two weeks after they moved in together.

30-year-old Yannelis de la Caridad Casales jumped into her 38-year-old boyfriend, Carlos Yordanis Aldana’s arms in March at the Jacksonville airport.

According to an NBC Miami report, the couple had been dating for six years, yet Aldana had just arrived in the United States from Cuba after serving a three-year prison sentence.

A fortnight after their heartwarming reunion, the Florida woman was found dead, having been stabbed in their apartment. Now, Aldana is being charged with her murder, as per the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

On March 30, Cops were alerted to the unfortunate scene at an apartment complex off the Arlington Expressway. Police found Aldana outside of the building, bleeding from stab wounds to his shin and left hand.

‘A trail of blood led officers from where Aldana was found to a crime scene in an apartment unit,’ the sheriff’s office said.

Cops then went inside the apartment and found the Florida woman with several stab wounds and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Surveillance footage obtained by Univision seemingly showed a bloodied Aldana walking through the apartment stairwell.

In the video, Aldana can be allegedly heard saying, ‘I killed her,’ CiberCuba reported.

The couple got to know each other in Cuba when Aldana was already living in the United States. While on vacation to the island three years ago, Aldana was reportedly arrested by police for an unspecified case.

As Aldana served his time, Casales relocated to the United States with an I-220A document.

An I-220A document, also known as an ‘Order of Release on Recognizance,’ is an ICE document that grants a migrant release from custody while their immigration proceedings are pending.

On March 16, Casales posted their heartwarming airport reunion video on Facebook with the caption, ‘You are the dream I always pray for. Welcome home.’

In the video, Casales ran to Aldana from across the airport, holding red, white and pink heart balloons, jumping into his arms after.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office revealed that after speaking with witnesses and gathering evidence, Aldana was arrested and charged with murder.

Casales’ loved ones have set up a GoFundMe to cover her funeral expenses.

‘Our beloved friend Yannelis Casales, her life was tragically taken Sunday, March 30,’ the fundraiser said. ‘She was the life and soul of the parties. Her friends and family are devastated.’

This incident highlights the conversation of some families and women choosing not to hang around loved ones who have served a long time in prison, as many on social media believe they often come back differently than they initially were.
