The Queen’s Staircase

Built out of solid limestone by slaves between 1793 and 1794, no one can miss the Queen’s staircase situated in the Fort Fincastle Historic Complex. The staircase holds a lot of sentiments for the people and it was named after Queen Victoria of Britain whose reign lasted from 1837 to 1901. It is popularly known as The 66 steps and was used as a direct route from Fort Fincastle to Nassau City by the slaves.
