The murder of black boys George Armwood on October 18, 1933 and Emmett Till on August 28, 1955 by white mobs comprising men, women and children stunned well-meaning people – black or white. However, in this piece, involving 17-year-old mentally unstable youth Jesse Washington by another white mob in May 15, 1916 will send chills down the spine.
