The general manager of a popular Bradenton restaurant, Oak & Stone, was taken into custody Tuesday evening. According to authorities, William “Billy” Johnson was arrested for burglarizing the restaurant.
When an employee of the restaurant, which is situated on Barcarrota Blvd., arrived on Tuesday morning, the door was unlocked. The contents of the safe were gone, and it was open. The cash register was also forced open, according to WWSB.
The employee informed the 43-year-old general manager, who replied that he had locked the restaurant at 12:45 a.m. However, when detectives examined the security cameras, they discovered that someone wearing a mask entered at 5:44 a.m. The individual then unplugged the security cameras.
After the detectives contacted other establishments that had cameras, the suspect was seen parking and getting out of a Kia SUV. A further investigation found that Johnson owned the SUV. He parked a few blocks away, walked to the restaurant, and used his key to open the door.
