Marathon Des Sables

Marathon Des Sables which takes place on the Sahara Desert in Morocco is a multi-day marathon that spans a six-day period over a course between 150 and 156 miles. The routes and formats change every year. Competitors are expected to carry food supplies and other equally vital items that would aid their stay in the desert. Participants stay overnight in tents giving them an actual desert experience. Apart from burning some calories from this exercise, you are bound to make friends from other countries who are likely to be your tent mates. If you want to be a part of this festival, you are advised to visit the country earlier so you can scout the place before the competition begins.
