Award-winning actress Gabourey Sidibe took to Instagram on Tuesday to happily announce she’s pregnant and expecting twins with her husband Brandon Frankel. Sidibe, who is of Senegalese descent, shared a photo carousel to make the announcement.

The photos include the Precious actress and her husband holding her baby bump while another also shows the couple excitedly holding two baby strollers. “I’m pregnant!” Sidibe shared. “We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility so we’re giving them each a baby to take care of!

“Double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!!” the 40-year-old added. “Twin Delivery coming soon! Twinty Twinty Four!”

The Oscar-nominated actress and Frankel met on the Raya dating app in 2019 before they eventually got married in 2021, TODAY.com reported. In a 2022 interview with Brides magazine, Frankel said he and Sidibe hung out for “more than seven hours” on their first date. Sidibe, on the other hand, also said she wasn’t that keen on getting married until she met Frankel.

“I couldn’t imagine dating someone I actually liked. Turns out, totally possible! So, I’m really happy to have been wrong about where I saw my life going, partnership-wise,” she said. “[Brandon] is an incredible, incredible partner.”

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Sidibe in 2020 similarly took to Instagram to announce her engagement. “My BFF proposed and now I get to hold him forever. The funniest man I’ve ever met. The sweetest human to exist. @brandontour made up a song for when i [sic] put my bonnet on at night,” she captioned.

“The second I look a bit stressed and overwhelmed, he jumps into action to take over what he can for me. Every moment with him is a joy. He is the partner i thought I was too independent to need. I’ve learned so much about myself through him and I feel grateful and excited to learn more about the entire world with him by my side. My partner, my best friend, my cats’ daddy, my mans, my heart, my fiancé!!!”
