Singer Ray J is offering a cash reward for the return of his heart monitor after he announced that a fan stole the device while he was performing at his Valentine’s Day concert in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Earlier this year, the 45-year-old singer, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., was hospitalized in a Las Vegas hospital with a severe case of pneumonia and heart pains, Face2Face Africa previously reported. But his health issues seemingly exacerbated, as he later implied that his days were numbered.
Per TMZ, Ray J said that the fan snatched the heart monitor from his chest when he went into the crowd as he was performing his One Wish song.
In a video, the Sexy Can I singer said that he wanted to “send a message out to somebody with something that I need that’s important.”
“Every time I do ‘One Wish,’ I try to jump out in the crowd and touch the people and sing the song with the people. Because without the people, and without the fans, without the people coming to the show, we’re nothing. Right?” Ray J explained. “So I always wanna go to the crowd. I always wanna touch the people.”
The 45-year-old then revealed how the fan stole his heart monitor before sending an appeal to the person in question.
“Unfortunately, as it got crazy going in the back under the tunnel, somebody snatched my heart monitor off,” he disclosed. “If you have the heart monitor, just let us know how we can get it back if possible. Because I need it for analytics.”
Ray J further emphasized that it was “important” to get the device back.
“If not, they’ll put another heart monitor on me,” he added. “But I don’t have no data for the past two weeks. And so it affects like them… prescribing me what I need or telling me that I either need to slow down or I’m doing great.”
Ray J then provided channels through which he could be contacted and offered a cash reward for the return of his heart monitor.
The singer also stated that they weren’t trying to pull off some kind of “stunt” or anything.
“This is serious,” he continued. “If I put another one on, it’ll just start creating and finding the analytics from the day I put it on – not you know, the two weeks that I really needed it. And these past two weeks, it was pretty critical.”
Back in January, Ray J provided an update on his health during a livestream on Instagram, E! News reported.
“2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” the singer said in reference to not making it to 2027. “This is black. This is, like, done,” he also said while appearing to touch the location of his heart.
Ray J further disclosed that he “almost died” when he was hospitalized because his condition was that serious. He also revealed that his current health issues were caused by alcohol and drug abuse.
