The 26-year old singer, songwriter and performer Janelle Monae has become a CoverGirl spokesmodel for the famous cosmetic brand. Known for her iconic style and unique sound Monae certainly brings something new to the team alongside fellow CoverGirls: Pink, Queen Latifah, Paula Patton and Taylor Swift.
Her 10-page ad campaign is set to launch in the September issue of Vogue, which has already named her the “different kind of diva” for her signature style. Monae is excited about her new opportunity as she tweeted, “ I’m strong. I’m beautiful. I AM A COVERGIRL!!!!.”
Monae doesn’t take her new role lightly and explained why she chose to join CoverGirl:
