Jola House, an organization located in Liberia that empowers women by providing them with gainful life and employment skills through training them how to design and sew bags and accessories; and produce creative home and interior décor amenities, will host its inaugural celebration to promote women’s empowerment on Saturday June 8, 2013 at 48 Lounge in New York.
The benefit event will begin at 6:00PM in honor of the women who have found economic stability through the skills of design and sewing provided by Jola House Foundation. The goal of the night is to not only highlight the adversities these women have overcome, but to also raise awareness and funds to promote sustainability of the cause. A donation of $50 is suggested to aid another year of women empowerment and expand the program to 100 women.
Attendees can RSVP at http://jolahouseevent.eventbrite.com.
Founder and Executive Director, Elfreda Mayson, had this to say about Jola House: “When I started Jola House, my initial goal was to help women in need who were poverty stricken and could not provide for their families due to the civil war. Most of our sewing equipment are now outdated but the women are passionate about Jola House and it shows in what we produce. As I strive to help more women each day and produce quality products, I am inviting others to join me in this critical work and to celebrate with us at our first benefit that will help support the women we are working with”.
Highlights of the night will include a one hour open bar starting at 6PM along with complimentary hord'oeuvres. Guests will get the chance to interact with Elfreda Mayson and learn more about the amazing work the organization is doing. Jola House products will also be on display. To demonstrate our appreciation for your donation and participation, Jola House will give every attendee a hand crafted –made with love in Liberia tablet case suitable for Apple iPad, Google Nexus 7 or Samsung Galaxy.
