Nairobi floods

Several parts of Kenya including Nairobi are soaking wet and flooded on Thursday morning after heavy rains wreaked havoc for residents, commuters, businesses and even schoolchildren who were blocked from carrying out their regular activities.

The downpour has, however, become a money making venture for others who devised means to help people move around in the flooded streets and communities, while they fill their pockets.

As some Nairobi residents charge fees for people to, among others, cross makeshift bridges and be pulled in cargo carts through the flooded streets, others on social media are making fun of the situation by posting memes.

This might continue for a long time as the Kenya Meteorological Department director Peter Ambenje has announced that the heavy rains are expected to continue and they could cause havoc in most parts of the country.

Here are some photos/ videos of the floods posted on Twitter as well as some memes making fun out of the situation.
