Hola, Beauties!  I know it’s been a while.  I haven’t forgotten about you!  I’ve been crazy busy this past summer from traveling to preparing and working New York Fashion Week.  I’m glad it’s all behind me, and I can’t express how much I’ve missed you guys and I’m looking forward to catching up!

If I walk outside of the house without lipstick, I feel naked!  Can any of you relate?!…Fall is definitely the time of the year I look forward to trying different make-up products, especially lip products, from lipsticks, lip gloss, lip balms or lip stains — the list is endless.

I’ve received a few lip products to try and review, and while I haven’t been able to try them all, I wanted to share with you what I’ve tried so far. I promise as I try out the remainder of lip products, I will share them with you — after all, caring is sharing.

Lip Product #1

Louboutin

When I think of Louboutin, like you, I think of red bottom shoes. Last month, though, Louboutin expanded their presence on the beauty scene (be sure to check out their nail polish collection!) by introducing an aww-mazing  lip collection!

This line offers 38 colors and is available in three finishes: silky satin, velvet matte, and sheer voile.

I love the color staying power!

The tube comes in an attractive bullet shaped tube, which is meant to be worn around your neck as a pendant after you swipe it across your mouth. So you don’t have to stuff your lipstick in your boots when you want to have a purseless day!

The price point for these babies is $90.

Lip Product #2

I love products that remind me of my childhood.  Glo Minerals Suede Matte Crayon does the trick.  I love the way it glides on my lips and the staying power is oh-so-fabulous!

Other benefits of the Suede Matte Crayon is you don’t need a lip liner and it has a built-in sharpener that delivers precision and convenience all in one.

It’s important to know what you’re buying or using on your lips. This product offers antioxidant protection and conditioning ingredients that include Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Mango Seed Oil, and Shea Butter.

It truly is matte redefined!

Don’t forget matte finishes are trending in the world of lips. The last kudos I want to mention is the shades they offer for a woman of color is uber-good; my fav is sorbet!  Be sure to check out Glo Minerals to find your next favorite crayon.

Lip Product #3

vaseline

Here’s a question for you: How many times a day do you apply lip balm? According to a few polls, the average woman uses lip balm anywhere from two to 30 times a day, yes 30 times…smh – I’m guilty!

Luckily, lip balm has come a long way from good ol’ Vaseline.  Today, you can find berry colors to SPF 35; there’s no shortage when it comes to the variety of lip balms available. This time of the year is when our lips take a serious dry beating.  It’s important to use some sort of lip conditioner or lip balm to treat your dry chapped lips.  I love Vaseline lip therapy; it offers a rosy and velvety finish, along with a pleasant smell.

Pampering Treat

Mix three teaspoons of Vaseline with one teaspoon of honey and dash of cinnamon.  Store the concoction in an empty lip blam pot and massage it on at night using smooth, slow strokes.  Leave on for 30 minutes before wiping off.  Your lips will thank you!

I hope these reviews have been helpful. If any of you have a specific beauty question or have a product for me to review, please send me an e-mail to rj@renardajoynyc.com.

Until next time, stay beautiful!
