Tammi Terrell was a personal friend to Marvin Gaye and together, the pair recorded timeless tunes such as Ain’t No Mountain High.

But Terrell herself never found the love she sang of having and had one abusive lover after the other, including the famous James Brown.

Terrell died after brain tumor complications aged just 24.
