A representative for Meagan Good has debunked rumors about a breakup between the actress and her boyfriend Jonathan Majors. The couple started dating in May 2023, and the representative told TMZ that they’re still going strong.
The Divorce in the Black star’s representative provided the update about the pair’s relationship status after a guest on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show initially claimed that Good, 43, and Majors, 35, had gone their separate ways.
“They are not broken up. In fact, they will be attending the Ebony 100 Gala together,” the rep said about the couple. The Ebony 100 Gala is taking place at the Nya Studios West in Los Angeles on Sunday.
During a red carpet interview with PEOPLE at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles in March, Good touched on her relationship with Majors, saying that she was in a better place.
That event was the first time the couple appeared at a prominent awards show after Majors was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Majors’ December 2023 conviction traces back to a March 2023 incident in downtown Manhattan involving a heated argument with Jabbari.
Although Majors has been spared jail time, the repercussions of his guilty verdict have already impacted him beyond the courtroom. The guilty verdict resulted in his removal from his Marvel role as Kang the Conqueror.
Despite her current beau’s legal woes, Good confirmed they were in a good space and also provided an update on her personal life.
“I’m in love, I’m transitioning, I’m healing, I’m growing [and] I’m getting excited about what’s next,” she said at the time. “Yeah, just a lot of things at once. But what I can say is, I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time.”
