The two Kenyans starred in the 1931 Hollywood movie Trader Horn which is also the first non-documentary film shot on location in Africa. The film is about the adventures of a real-life trader and adventurer Alfred Aloysius “Trader” Horn (Harry Carey), while on safari in Africa. In the movie, Mutia played the role of Horn’s gun bearer while Riano was a witchdoctor.
