Jordan Edouardo
Since opening Salare in 2015, a restaurant specializing in French and Italian cuisine, the Florida native has risen to fame, becoming one of America’s most notable chefs. This year, he won two 2018 James Beard Awards: Best Chef Northwest for Salare restaurant and Best New Restaurant for JuneBaby in Seattle, becoming the first African-American chef to win the Best New Restaurant award.
Apart from these huge awards, the chef got a rave review from New York Times critic Pete Wells, who only reviews restaurants outside of New York City every few months, and appeared in the business section of the Root 100, an annual list of the most influential African Americans, aged 25 to 45.
Seattle restaurant, Junebaby was also one of the few restaurants named to Time’s Greatest Places 2018 list.
Edouardo often moves around with his four-year son whom he describes as his right-hand man, his boss and one who probably knows “more spices and herbs than half of my chefs!”
