Michelle Williams responds to prophetess who called Beyoncé a ‘witch’

Beyoncé’s former band member and close friend, Michelle Williams, had some things to say to a prophetess who made the news after she called the award-winning singer a “witch” and also called out Christians who intend to attend her Renaissance World Tour.

According to HOT 97, prophetess Tiphani Montgomery made those comments during a sermon. In her speech, the prophetess made mention of Beyoncé and her fanbase (“The Bey Hive”), saying: “Witches covens are normally three to seven people. When it becomes thousands it’s called a hive, y’all a part of that lady beehive? And you call yourself a Christian?”

Montgomery also claimed the Renaissance singer’s concert was an “initiation.” But after the sermon went viral, Williams took to social media to defend her best friend. “I am just watching a lot going on, things that are being said, specifically about entertainers,” Williams, 43, said in the video she posted on Instagram. “umm, specifically about entertainers that I even have relationships with, umm entertainers that I know off the stage.”

The singer also said she wished “we would pray as publicly for entertainers as we rebuke them and damn their soul to hell.” “I know it ain’t my calling mission, umm, to damn entertainers to hell and to say that they would drop dead. The devil is a lie,” she added.

Williams also touched on why it is prudent to have a relationship with Christ. “Once you have that relationship with Christ, you know certain things you will do and won’t do anymore. Just like you used to pop bottles and drop it’s like it’s hot and the Lord changed your life, it’s a possibility that God will do the same things to others,” she said.

Some social media users sided with Williams, with one saying, “A tough lesson to learn apparently that being overly vocal about the affairs of others rarely ages well.” Another user also wrote: “Michelle said what you’re not going to do is come for my friend”

But Beyoncé wasn’t the only person the prophetess came after. She also spoke about her husband Jay-Z and his “HOV” moniker. “Why do you think that man call himself Jay-Hova, it was short for Jehovah,” she said.

Ironically, prophetess Montgomery – in 2018 – shared a Tweet about attending a Jay-Z and Beyoncé concert, HOT 97 reported. She also had good things to say about the couple. In her post, Montgomery said the concert was “AMAZING!!!”

In another post, the prophetess wrote, “…a few gospel tunes cause we LOVE Jesus, some Beyonce hits cause we STANS for that b*sh and some Reggae cause we from the ROC!!!”
